International Clinical Trials Events

Clinical Trials deserve celebrations

Since 2005, an International Clinical Trials Day was launched for commemorating the day when James Lind started his famous clinical trial on scurvy in 1747, May 20, and laid the basis for modern clinical research (watch ECRAN film on James Lind here and consult the James Lind Library for more information).

The international Clinical Trials Day is celebrated every year around the world (on May 20 or close to it) with international communication events, meetings and debates.

2014 celebrations: May 19-21, 2014, Luxembourg (see the program)

2013 celebrations: May 17, 2013, Warsaw (see the program)

2012 celebrations: May 18, 2012, Dublin (see the program)

ECRAN will be playing an active role in the organization of the International Clinical Trials Day, especially developing tools, materials and events about the need for independent clinical trials and multinational collaboration aimed at increasing public understanding and participation among patients and citizens (primary target) and health professionals, policy makers, and communicators (secondary target).

ECRAN will be participating to the International Clinical Trials Day celebrations in 2014.
